One example was the message written by our dear listener, Antonio Argolo, who said on his Facebook:
“Palavra Alegre has given a new revamp to its broadcasts in Portuguese through Short Waves. I really like the religious programming and the variety of themes presented, which sets it apart from other stations of its kind.”
WCB broadcasts in Portuguese to Brazil on Short Waves at 21:00 UTC and 22:00 UTC, on 9765 KHz.
This October, Rádio Palavra Alegre celebrated six years of Brazilian Service. The station has introduced a new concept of religious programming with unique music and messages, along with social services related to everyday life.
During the month of October, I had the opportunity to travel to the United States, where I had the pleasure of spending the day with our team in Franklin. On that day, I was able to share in person how we have developed our broadcast in Portuguese and our plans for the future.
On that occasion, I was also fortunate to meet Bryan Basham, WCB’s Executive Vice President, who has been doing an incredible job over the past year. In addition to Bryan, I spent valuable time with Sue Ewing, Andy Baker, and Gayle Crowe, and I had the chance to reconnect with a good part of our team in Franklin.
I am deeply grateful to everyone I spent time with on this trip, especially FH Gates, who has supported our work in Brazil from the beginning and is always ready to help.
Thanks to the entire team at WCB, KNLS, Madagascar World Voice, and, finally, to our president, Andy Baker, and Gayle, for believing in the shortwave work here in Brazil.
Lastly, I want to wish everyone a fantastic November and a Happy Thanksgiving. May we be truly grateful to our good God for His wonders and care for all of us.
