As July begins, we welcome one of the most significant months in the history of the United States.
On July 4th, Americans celebrate Independence Day—a time marked by vibrant festivities, fireworks, and national pride.
It’s a momentous occasion that deserves to be remembered and honored.
In Brazil, our own Independence Day is celebrated on September 7th.
But today, we join in saying: Happy Fourth of July!
Reflecting on historic milestones, we’d like to share the story of one of our dedicated listeners and contributors: Antonio Ribeiro da Motta, from São Paulo, Brazil.
Beyond being a loyal follower of our program, Antonio has enriched our broadcasts by sharing a valuable collection of historic audio recordings—captured over many years. These include recordings from both now-defunct stations and others still active today.
“I probably began listening to the radio the same way many others did.
One night, unable to sleep, I picked up a radio and scanned the medium wave band.
When I couldn’t find anything interesting, I switched to shortwave—and that’s when I discovered a Spanish Christian broadcast.
I was amazed by the audio quality and how far it traveled—from Bonaire all the way to Brazil.The next night, I tuned in again at the same time and frequency. From that point on, I began discovering different languages and radio stations…
a seemingly endless variety that fascinated me and drew me in.Over time, I started building a collection. Since 1974, I’ve been archiving these recordings—now shared on YouTube and a personal website.
What began as curiosity became a lifelong passion.”
We continue with the The Lord’s Supper series, aired every Sunday.
This series is based on the book Messages for Supper by Raniere Vieira.
We are also producing and translating Prayer Lessons and Prayer by Andy Baker,
as well as the ongoing series Encounters with Jesus by Gayle Crowe.
In July, we launched a new series of Bible studies on the Book of Mark, exploring practical applications for everyday life.
These reflections are recorded by Allen Dutton Jr and broadcast weekly.
Our collaborator Fernanda Silva continues her valuable work on Espaço Mulher, featuring the series Women Devotional—always with meaningful content for our female audience.
Every Sunday, we also air the Belize Patricia series for children—short, engaging studies with games and life applications tailored for young listeners.
