Welcome spring for residents of the southern hemisphere and welcome autumn for residents of the northern hemisphere. October arrived and with it the changes of seasons in different parts of the world.
This month, as I said in my previous article, is very special for our broadcasts in Portuguese, as we celebrate another anniversary. Yes. Palavra Alegre 6 years! God has blessed us powerfully during these 6 years of broadcasting to Portuguese-speaking countries and why not tell the world! Because every week we receive dozens of contacts from various countries, including listeners who do not understand Portuguese.
During these years, we have been working with the firm purpose of talking about God’s love and how he gave his life for each one of us. We have highlighted the importance of baptism as well as the importance of following Christ without giving up.
This purpose makes us seek more and more alternatives and strategies to reach souls for Christ and thus this October we complete another year of our App. The novelty of this anniversary is that we now have the Lumo video series within our App. Lumo videos is a film series that presents a chronological narration of the gospels. To access the series you can go to Google Play or Apple Store and type in the word alegre, install it on your cell phone and you will be able to see the entire series.
Speaking of the reach of our program via shortwave, we received contact from a listener from Cuba, but the interesting thing is that he came to Brazil from Cuba about 2 months ago and has been working in construction in southern Brazil. Our listener’s name is Osmani, 33 years old. He is married but had to come alone. Osmani started studying Portuguese before coming to Brazil and now immersed in the culture, he already speaks the language.
Seeking to get closer to our listener, we got in touch with the Churches in the south of Brazil and the brothers were readily willing to visit him and, even more incredible than that, they already started a Bible study with him online. God is wonderful.
During the month of September we also received contact from Leandro Vagner from Southeast Brazil and he said:
“Radio is a pastime since my childhood. I always liked listening to games and other programs on the radio. This started when I went to my grandfather’s house and there we listened to the games on the radio Globo Am, Bandeirantes, etc.
With technology, this has become somewhat of a standby. However, recently, I discovered a radio listening group on Facebook and the passion came to the surface again. With that, I started studying the subject and bought my “first new radio”
Every day at night I “search” the radio stations to find out what is available to listen to, always hoping to hear some radio from abroad. I have a radio that belonged to my father who I estimate to be older than me “laughs (approximately 45 years old).
I’m 40 years old and I’m a Project Manager at a retail software company.”

Finally, at the end of the year we will draw two Companheiro radio sets, a Bible and pens. The first draw will be on November 4th and the other will be on December 2nd. Have a great October to everyone and may God bless us!
